Oilfield and Industrial

We are constantly exploring our product (SynAsphalt analogue of natural asphalt). And we believe that SynAsphalt can be used in the oilfield and industrial.

SynAsphalt analogue of Natural Asphalt in Oilfield

In the oil and gas industry, drilling muds or fluids perform a number of functions that impact drilling speed, cost, efficiency and safety of the driller.

An important characteristic of the SynAsphalt is its temperature at the softening point. In oil-based solutions, it is used as a substance to control fluid loss. In water-based solution, it is used as a shale stabilizing additive, and it is difficult to evaluate unless test are carried out at or above its softening point.

SynAsphalt is efficient for sealing permeable formations, even when drilling such zones at very different pressure drops. Similarly, the SynAsphalt helps prevent jamming of the pipes and resistivity logging devices.

SynAsphalt is used in the cementing of clay suspensions to control the density, and in cleaning activities for removal of dirt or to improve the resistance to compression. It enters a unique reaction with shale, which improves the development and consolidation of the cement bond.

SynAsphalt analogue of Natural Asphalt in Industrial

SynAsphalt can be used in the foundry industry.

SynAsphalt is mixed with coal and other components as an additive in molding sands to ensure the quality of the molded parts. Lower gas evolution reduces the ventilation load on the pouring floor. The relationship of the physical properties of the newly formed sand mixtures is confirmed in situations where SynAsphalt was used as an additive to sand. Casting using mixture of SynAsphalt was similar to bituminous coal.

SynAsphalt is also used as a carbonized additive for  molding sand, which creates a smooth sheet on gray casting products. At a temperature lower than that of coal, it makes the material unstable, thereby improving the process of separating the metal from the mold. Moreover, the mold surface becomes smooth and clean. SynAsphalt can be used as a supplement or replacement for bituminous coal or other conventional carbonated additives in molding. The physical properties of the SynAsphalt sand are similar or superior to those of bituminous coal at much lower levels of additives. SynAsphalt improves sand density and the demand for water and strength (green, dry, hot and burnt). SynAsphalt has the same overall volatility, and bituminous coal, but the amount of the additive is thrice as lower.

During casting, gases as emitted from carbonaceous additives form a gaseous film which prevents direct contact of molten metal with the clay-coated sand particles, thus reducing the contact between sand and metal, and,  consequently, the burning. When heated, carbonaceous materials release volatile hydrocarbon gases, which are then pyrolized until the precipitation of a brilliant carbon graphite layer at the boundary of the contact between metal and mold. This deposition acts as a physical barrier against the formation of iron silicate, and the slight wetting with molten iron. The effect of the combination is to reduce burning and penetration.
