Other Application of Aluminosilicate Microspheres
As has already been noted, aluminosilicate microspheres (cenospheres), due to their special properties, have a variety of applications:
- Building and finishing materials: filler for compressed concrete (paving, paving slabs, and decorative elements)
- Construction of decorative structural sections and face-mounted attachments; artificial stone for interior and exterior finish of buildings;
- Automotive and aviation industry: a filler for production of composites, repair putties and primers, compositions for the production of tires, bumpers and panels, sound dampening materials, light blade propellers, trim elements, etc.
- Manufacture of abrasive tools: highly porous grinding wheels featuring closed design and high performance;
- Compositions for surface protection against adhesion of weld spatters in the manufacture of welded complex-shape steel structures;
- Fire-resistant filling for steel casting molds;
- Production of non-slip compositions for the manufacture of heels and soles for footwear;
- Furniture: filler for the production of furniture moldings; creation of layers, which float on surface of oil to provide reduction of vaporization.
